Hand-Waving Stick Flags

Nobody has ever complained about the print on a hand flag. They complain that it span round on the stick within ten minutes, or came off it entirely, and both are the same failure: the fabric was attached to the dowel with a couple of staples and nothing else.

Ours are sleeved. The fabric is folded around the dowel and heat-sealed into a closed sleeve, so the load is spread along the whole length rather than concentrated at two points. It costs very little more and it is the difference between a flag that lasts a parade and one that lasts a lap of it.

The dowel end is cut blunt and sanded as standard, because these get handed to children in crowds and a sharp dowel end at eye height is not an acceptable risk.
